Shannon’s Logo Story

Shannon’s logo symbolizes the interconnected relationship between her values, culture and profession. The design evokes a bold, yet welcoming and trusted visual through the stylized strokes and calming strong blue tone. The elements of the symbol include a cultural lemniscate, Shannon’s initials, and the incompletion of a circle to marry everything together.

The Breakdown…

Shannon’s logo was created by Metis Graphic Communication Designer, Jolene Arcand. Jolene incorporated the lemniscate (Metis infinity symbol) element into the logo by way of type manipulation. It represents the strength, resilience, and timeless culture of the Metis Nation. This element also represents the importance of inclusivity, limitlessness evolution, and the cyclic balance of life.

Shannon’s initials were created by inspiration from two typefaces. ‘Jonathan’ for the cursive S and ‘Liana’ for the leaning ‘P’.

They were re-created and strategically placed to concieve the lemniscate. This element represents Shannon’s forward movement as a change maker and motivational thought leader.

The incomplete circle around the logo  symbolizes the gaps in gender equality and that here is a substantial need for change. It also relates to all cyclic movement(flow) just as in the Indigenous traditional teachings of the medicine wheel. This represents Shannon’s unbreakable determination as a thought leader and change maker and the strength she brings to her clients as a whole. It represents the originality and perseverance which reaches outward in her craft.
